This session offers a succinct summary of the "hottest" and most novel research presented during the preceding days at ACC '04. Research from each of the meeting's major topic tracks will be highlighted giving all cardiovascular professionals an opportunity to be updated in all areas of cardiovascular medicine. Presentations will focus on the latest research in cutting-edge areas, such as technological advances, as well as innovations in disease detection and management. The session will be geared toward the expertise and experience of a general cardiology audience.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this educational program, the participant will be able to:
  • Review key data from important cardiovascular clinical trials presented at Scientific Sessions
  • Discuss current and new interventional and pharmacologic therapies for vascular disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, myocardial ischemia, infarction and heart failure
  • Evaluate primary and secondary prevention management strategies
  • Examine the efficacy of angiography and noninvasive imaging technologies
  • Compare management strategies for cardiovascular disease in specific populations
Target Audience:
This program is intended for cardiologists, cardiology fellows and residents, and anyone who treats patients with cardiovascular disease.
