Late-Breaking Clinical Trials I was one of the most important sessions at this year's conference. Learning Objectives:
At the end of this program, it is intended for the participant to:
  • Review key data from late breaking clinical trials including PROVE IT - TIMI22, ALLIANCE, SCD-HeFT, and DINAMIT

  • Compare and contrast the efficacy and safety profiles of statin agents for thrombolysis in myocardial infarction patients

  • Evaluate the efficacy of lipid lowering therapy as primary prevention of cardiovascular events in diabetic patients

  • Examine current management strategies for patients with heart failure, including the use of implantable defibrillators and antiarrhythmic agents

  • Discuss clinical outcomes for coronary heart disease patients treated with aggressive lipid lowering with statins versus those undergoing usual care strategies
